Significance
French lavender farmer Maurice Masse encountered a rugby-ball-shaped craft on landing legs in his field at dawn, with two small beings examining a lavender plant. When he approached, one of the beings pointed a tube at him and he was paralysed. The craft departed and left physical evidence including a crater and hardened soil. Masse reported long-lasting fatigue after the event — consistent with effects reported by other close-encounter witnesses. The French Gendarmerie investigated and found the physical evidence.
