Naval Air Station Patuxent River
US Navy facility — St. Mary’s County, Maryland
ACTIVE — ALLEGED STORAGE SITE
Naval Air Station Patuxent River — ‘Pax River’ — is the headquarters of Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and the Navy’s primary aviation research, development, test and evaluation centre. It is also, according to multiple sources who spoke to Liberation Times, the current storage location of an exotic vehicle of unknown origin that has been held there for decades under CIA custodianship. A $10 million hangar was built to facilitate transfer of the craft to Robert Bigelow via Lockheed Martin. The CIA blocked the transfer. Rep. Burlison visited the empty hangar in early 2026 on a White House-approved trip.
History & Classification
Pax River became the official repository for the Navy’s GIMBAL and GOFAST UAP videos when NAVAIR’s FOIA reading room released them in 2020. Luis Elizondo named Pax River in written Congressional testimony as a site prepared for a UAP material transfer. The $10 million hangar was reportedly allocated at the request of then-Representative Steny Hoyer (D-MD), who represented the district. The hangar was built to receive materials that were ultimately blocked from transfer by CIA Director of Science and Technology Glenn Gaffney.
UAP Programme Connection
The alleged storage narrative: CIA has held the craft since the 1950s, when recoveries began. Lockheed Martin VP James Ryder proposed transferring the materials to Robert Bigelow’s aerospace interests to drive technological breakthroughs. A Pax River hangar was built for the transfer, along with a private runway and crane infrastructure. Glenn Gaffney blocked it. A 2011 DHS attempt (KONA BLUE) to create an alternative transfer mechanism also failed. The craft remains at Pax River — or was relocated when the site became publicly identified.
Current Status
Rep. Burlison’s White House-approved visit in February 2026 confirmed the hangar infrastructure exists and is consistent with the transfer narrative — but found it empty. Sources told Liberation Times that contingency plans may be in place to relocate the craft if its location becomes publicly identified. Salvatore Pais — who filed unconventional propulsion patents while at NAVAIR Pax River — may have had access to the stored craft. Whether the craft remains at Pax River or has been moved is the operative intelligence question.
