Liberation Times reported the claim that a BBC journalist who covered the 1994 Ariel School UFO landing in Ruwa, Zimbabwe was allegedly threatened by CIA personnel over the story. The Ariel School incident is one of the most extensively documented mass UAP witness events in history — 62 schoolchildren, ages 6-12, reported witnessing a landed craft and beings during a school break. The CIA’s alleged involvement in suppressing the story adds a new dimension to the already remarkable case.
The Ariel School Incident — September 16, 1994
On September 16, 1994, 62 students at the Ariel School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe reported witnessing a silver disc land in a field adjacent to the school during a morning break. Children reported seeing beings near the craft. Harvard psychiatrist Dr. John Mack — a Pulitzer Prize winner — interviewed the children extensively and found their testimony consistent and credible. The BBC’s Tim Leach covered the story on the ground. The children’s descriptions of what they witnessed remain consistent decades later.
The CIA Threat Allegation
According to Liberation Times reporting, BBC journalist Tim Leach was allegedly contacted by individuals claiming CIA affiliation and warned about pursuing the story further. The allegation — if accurate — would represent the CIA actively suppressing journalism about a mass UAP witness event in a foreign country, consistent with the Robertson Panel’s 1953 recommendation that the government take active steps to prevent UAP stories from reaching public consciousness.
Dr. John Mack died in 2004. His research into the Ariel School children is documented and the full interview footage is publicly available. The children — now adults in their 30s and 40s — have maintained their accounts.
