Professional background spans General Electric, Sperry, the National Security Agency, Stanford University, SRI International, and (since 1985) the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin (EarthTech International). STARGATE / CIA REMOTE VIEWING (1972-1985): Puthoff directed the CIA/DIA-funded remote viewing program at SRI International alongside Russell Targ. Subjects included Ingo Swann, Uri Geller, Pat Price, and Joseph McMoneagle. The program ran for 20+ years, classified as a Cold War intelligence asset, with claimed operational successes (detecting drug shipments, locating targets). 1974 Nature paper was the key public disclosure.
