On March 20, 2024, UAP Coalition Netherlands and former MEP Francisco Guerreiro organized the historic “EU UAP Event” at the European Parliament in Brussels: “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) – EU Airspace: Reporting and Scientific Assessment.” Speakers included Dr. Beatriz Villarroel (Swedish astronomer, Stockholm University), Edoardo Russo (Italian researcher), former US Navy pilot Ryan Graves, and UAPCNL ambassador/pilot Christiaan van Heijst. Critically, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) sent an official representative — confirming the subject had reached institutional acknowledgment. Francisco Guerreiro submitted a formal motion to amend EU civil aviation regulations to create structured UAP reporting. March 20 is now designated “European UAP Day.” On the 2nd anniversary (March 20, 2026), UAP Coalition Netherlands published data that 5,000 UAP sightings were reported across Europe in a single year with no EU-wide system to collect, track, or analyze them. The position paper “Improving EU Flight Safety Reporting Systems for UAP” continues to form the basis of ongoing policy discussions. The event had massive media coverage and live streaming viewership across Europe.
