On September 9, 2025, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets held a UAP hearing: “Restoring Public Trust Through UAP Transparency and Whistleblower Protection.” The hearing produced explosive testimony including whistleblowers telling the task force that AARO possesses classified UAP information that has not been shared with Congress — despite AARO’s statutory obligation to do so.
Key Testimony: AARO Withholding Classified Information
Whistleblowers who testified before the task force stated that AARO “possesses classified information about UAP that has not been shared with Congress.” This is a direct contradiction of AARO’s legal mandate under the 2022 and 2024 NDAAs, which require AARO to share all UAP-related information with designated congressional committees. The task force’s chair Rep. Anna Paulina Luna stated: “The lack of disclosure regarding the very real threat posed by UAPs in and around U.S. restricted airspace is concerning. The Task Force has found responses from AARO, when questioned, to be insufficient and incomplete.”
George Knapp Written Testimony
Las Vegas investigative journalist George Knapp submitted written testimony at the September 9, 2025 hearing. Knapp has covered UAP for over 35 years, broke the Bob Lazar story in 1989, and has interviewed more UAP witnesses than virtually any journalist alive. His written testimony is available at: oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/George-Knapp-Written-Testimony.pdf
Other Witnesses
The September 9 hearing included testimony from UAP witnesses and a second journalist alongside Knapp. The hearing video is archived at YouTube via the GOP Oversight channel: youtube.com/watch?v=LBKRr5OvF6E. Additional witness written testimony from Nuccetelli is available at oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nuccetelli-Written-Testimony.pdf
Follow-Up: Luna Letters to DOW
Following the September 9 hearing, Rep. Luna’s task force sent a formal letter to the Department of War requesting release of the 46 military UAP videos referenced by witnesses. The DOW missed the April 14, 2026 deadline for responding to that request. The letter is available at: oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/UAP-Request-Letter-FINAL.pdf
