MUFON’s Most Important UFO Cases Are Classified Indefinitely. STAR Team Investigators Cannot Write Books, Contact Media, or Share Findings. No Exceptions. No End Date.

MUFON’s STAR Team handles the most significant UAP cases — those with physical evidence, multiple credible witnesses, or anomalous characteristics. Every STAR Team investigator must sign a confidentiality agreement before deployment. The agreement contains no expiration clause. Investigators are prohibited from: contacting any media (reporters, television, radio, email, internet); sharing findings with friends, family, or other investigators; providing any information to law enforcement or government agencies without explicit International Director approval; writing books or articles about any case. All notes, reports, witness testimony, photographs, video, measurements, and conclusions are the sole property of MUFON International. A separate MUFON Dive Team (established 2004, advanced scuba certifications) investigates Unidentified Submersed Objects. Their cases are subject to the same indefinite confidentiality. The Committee to Reform MUFON stated: “The most important cases MUFON handles are the ones being kept most secret from members and the public.” The MUFON organization whose stated mission is to provide UFO information to the American people is simultaneously classifying its best cases indefinitely.
