Roswell at 75: The GAO Found All 1947 Records Were Destroyed — Illegally

HISTORICAL ANALYSIS

Roswell at 75: The GAO Found All 1947 Records Were Illegally Destroyed. Here Is What Remains.

UAP Oracle · May 2026 · The Debrief / GAO 1994 report / NARA

The GAO’s 1994 investigation commissioned by Rep. Steven Schiff found that all administrative records from Roswell Army Air Field for 1947 were destroyed — in violation of federal law. The destruction was unauthorised. The Project Mogul balloon explanation was rejected by multiple Mogul programme participants on record. Jesse Marcel maintained until his death the material was not from Earth.

The GAO Finding

The GAO found all 1947 RAAF administrative records — including outgoing message traffic — were destroyed without authorisation, in violation of federal records law. The destruction of evidence of the most investigated UAP event in history is itself evidence.

The Mogul Problem

Project Mogul balloons were made from standard off-the-shelf materials. Multiple Mogul researchers stated on record that a Mogul array could not produce the material characteristics described by Roswell witnesses. The explanation was chosen for its classified-sounding status, not its scientific fit.

All outgoing messages were destroyed. The records that would show what was sent from Roswell Army Air Field in July 1947 no longer exist.

The Marcel Record

Jesse Marcel Sr. examined the Roswell debris as the base intelligence officer. He maintained until his death the material was unlike anything from Earth. His son corroborated. Marcel had no motive to fabricate — his career was built on accurate intelligence assessment.
