Since the mid-1970s, Russian military planners have used the term ‘weapons based on new physical principles’ to describe exotic military concepts — including technologies derived from UFO research. Deputy PM Yury Borisov listed them as a priority in Russia’s 2024-2033 State Armaments Program. A retired Russian Major General and nuclear weapons expert has explicitly cited UAP as a source of inspiration for these weapons.

The Russian Framework

The term ‘weapons based on new physical principles’ entered Soviet military doctrine in the mid-1970s and has never left. It describes weapons that operate outside the physics of conventional munitions — psychophysical weapons, directed energy, particle beams, and technologies derived from the study of phenomena that cannot be explained by mainstream physics. UFOs sit explicitly within this framework in Russian military thinking.

Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov, responsible for Russia’s weapons industries, explicitly listed these weapons as priorities in Russia’s State Armaments Program 2024-2033. Russian Defence Minister Shoigu referenced advanced systems in November 2022 in the context of the Ukraine war without elaboration.

The main priorities will be in such areas as the development of high-precision weapons, including hypersonic weapons, the introduction of robotic systems, and weapons based on new physical principles.

The UAP-Military Physics Connection

This is not fringe Russian thinking. The former Director of Science and Technology for the entire US Intelligence Community has publicly acknowledged there could be merit to Russian beliefs about UAP-derived weapons physics. The IMMACULATE CONSTELLATION programme — which tracks both non-human UAP and Reproduction Vehicles — explicitly includes adversary-operated craft using reverse-engineered alien technology. Russia’s military physics framework is one reason why.

The Parallel with AAWSAP

The US equivalent of ‘weapons based on new physical principles’ is AAWSAP — the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Application Program funded by DIA from 2009-2012 with Bigelow Aerospace as primary contractor. AAWSAP investigated propulsion physics that do not conform to known science. When DIA terminated it for ‘lack of merit’, Russia was already years into its own equivalent programme. The KONA BLUE successor was proposed to protect what AAWSAP had found. The weapons race over UAP-derived physics is not hypothetical — it is current military planning on both sides.
