THIS WEEK IN UAP RECORDS: NDAA FY2027 MARKUP, AARO EFOIA UPDATES, UK NATIONAL ARCHIVES

Congressional follow-up — watch this week. The April 27 deadline passed without confirmed compliance from three of four agencies. The committee’s next steps are the primary institutional thread. Specific watch items: any public statements from Comer or Burlison on agency response, follow-up hearings, indication that subpoena authority is being considered. Patel’s “spearheading” statement remains the most substantive public commitment — watch for any Congressional questioning that produces specific commitments on timeline or methodology.

NDAA FY2027 markup is underway. Every NDAA since FY2022 has contained UAP-specific provisions: FY2022 established AARO, FY2023 expanded mandate, FY2024 mandated NARA records transfer. Watch the FY2027 markup for new language on classified program disclosure timelines, whistleblower protection expansion, the December 2026 disclosure deadline, and new AARO reporting requirements.

AARO EFOIA — check this week. AARO updates the Electronic Reading Room on a rolling basis. Monitor for new organisational documents, additions to historical records, and new technical papers. UK National Archives — the digitised MoD UFO files at discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk remain one of the largest single UAP primary source repositories outside the US and almost entirely absent from current coverage. GEIPAN Category D database — any new additions are unresolved cases that have survived rigorous institutional investigation.
