Trump Promised Transparency on UFOs, Drones and Epstein. The Pattern So Far.

Donald Trump positioned himself as the anti-deep state candidate. His White House website declares his administration “the most transparent administration in history.” By July 2025, Liberation Times had documented a pattern that complicated that claim considerably. By May 2026, PURSUE launched and the picture became more complex still.

The Drone Incursions Downplay

In January 2025, mystery drones were appearing over sensitive military installations across New Jersey, North America, and Europe. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called them “simply research drones approved by the FAA.” The FAA had simultaneously imposed flight restrictions in direct response to those same incidents. Trump had earlier promised a report on the mysterious flights. The report did not materialise.

The Epstein Pattern

Trump allies including Pam Bondi and J.D. Vance had publicly raised expectations of Epstein client list disclosure during the 2024 campaign. By mid-2025, Trump was calling disclosure demands a “hoax.” A Reuters/Ipsos poll found 69% of Americans believed the administration was concealing critical information.

The UAP Trajectory

The UAP trajectory has been more substantive. Trump directed Pentagon declassification in February 2026. PURSUE launched May 8, 2026 with 161 files. DOE, NSA, FBI and State Department are all formally in the pipeline. The December 2026 congressional deadline creates a legislative pressure point that does not exist for Epstein or the drone incursions.

The Oracle Assessment

Sharp’s July 2025 analysis captured a real tension: the same administration that launched PURSUE was simultaneously downplaying drone incursions over NATO installations and burying the Epstein client list. These are not contradictory positions if you accept that some transparency is strategic — UAP disclosure, managed correctly, serves the administration’s interests. Epstein disclosure, by definition, does not.

PURSUE is real. Its significance is real. But it exists within an administration that has demonstrated it will disclose what it chooses to disclose, on its own timeline, for its own reasons. The December 2026 deadline is the mechanism that shifts that dynamic from voluntary to mandatory.
