Five Eyes: Canadian MP Demands Briefing on Alliance UAP Retrieval Program — Defence Research Canada Named

On March 22, 2023, Canadian Member of Parliament Larry Maguire wrote a formal letter to Canada’s Minister of National Defence, Anita Anand, demanding a classified briefing on Canada’s historical and ongoing involvement in a covert program to recover and analyse UAP materials. He named Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) specifically.

“I am writing to recommend you request a classified briefing, containing full sensitive and protected program information from your officials on the Government of Canada’s historical and ongoing efforts on analyzing recovered UAP material.”

The letter, which came into the possession of investigative journalists Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp, explicitly states that recovered foreign material is studied through DRDC — Canada’s primary defence research institution. Maguire also raised the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, suggesting the program extends across the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the United States as well as Canada.

Why This Matters

This is not a citizen FOIA request. This is a sitting Member of Parliament formally requesting classified intelligence briefings from a cabinet minister on a program he believes exists and believes Canada is participating in. The letter is a government document, written on parliamentary letterhead, by an elected official with security clearance access — and it uses the phrase “recovered UAP material” as a factual premise, not a speculation.

If the Five Eyes alliance is collectively involved in UAP retrieval and analysis, the NARA Record Group 615 transfers from the US are only one slice of a much larger international intelligence picture. The UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand would each hold their own portions of the record.

None of those governments have established public UAP records collections equivalent to NARA’s RG 615.
