On January 5, 2023, John Ratcliffe sat across from Pete Hegseth on Fox & Friends and said something that should have stopped the national security apparatus cold. On February 8, 2026, Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp released footage that may be the visual evidence he was describing.
Ratcliffe’s statement, made before he became CIA Director:
“Objects that demonstrate technologies that seem to defy the laws of physics and capabilities that we don’t have as the world’s superpower.”
“Our role in the federal government is to provide for the common defense and we can’t do that if someone else has technologies that are better than what we have.”
Hegseth was present for that conversation. He is now Secretary of War. Ratcliffe is now Director of the CIA. And both of them, in their new roles, signed off on PURSUE — the Pentagon’s rolling UAP declassification program launched May 8, 2026.
The Mushroom UAP Footage
The footage released by Corbell and Knapp on February 3, 2026 shows a mushroom-shaped UAP making what appears to be a sudden, extreme acceleration — the kind of manoeuvre Ratcliffe was describing. The object’s shape, its apparent instantaneous velocity change, and its visual characteristics do not match any known drone, aircraft, or atmospheric phenomenon.
Liberation Times noted the direct line between Ratcliffe’s 2023 public warning and the footage: the CIA Director, while still a civilian commentator, publicly described UAP performing physics-defying manoeuvres. The footage that emerged three years later appears to show exactly that.
The Oracle Assessment
The two men now running the CIA and the Department of Defense both publicly acknowledged, before taking their current roles, that UAP with capabilities exceeding US technology are real and represent a national security problem. They are now overseeing a declassification program. The mushroom footage is not an isolated viral video. It is the latest entry in a continuous evidentiary record that the people now running PURSUE have been tracking for years.
