Statistical Analysis of 216 UAP Cases Reveals 7 Distinct Types. Triangular Craft Are Most Likely to Exceed Mach 1. EM Effects Exclusive to Disc/Sphere at Close Range.

Bruehl (Vanderbilt University Medical Center), Little and Powell (SCU) applied two-step cluster analysis to 216 carefully selected UAP cases from 1947-2016 drawn from Project Blue Book, GEIPAN, NICAP, CUFOS, and MUFON databases. Silhouette value 0.6 confirms good statistical quality. Seven distinct clusters: (1&2) Disc/spherical — nearly half of all cases, dome-shaped variants, erratic “falling leaf” movement, high radar detection rate; (3) Cylindrical/cigar — largest average size, most likely to engage in “cat and mouse” behavior with observer; (4) Triangular/delta — ALL hover, 92% at night, black most common color, more than two-thirds show distinct lights, MOST LIKELY TYPE to exceed Mach 1 and show instantaneous acceleration; (5) Mixed shape, slower moving; (6) EM effects cluster — disc/sphere exclusive, 97% of sightings ≤2,000 feet from observer, most active observer engagement, animals react; (7) Sound-associated cluster. Red lights are the single most common light color across four of seven clusters. Shape is the single strongest differentiator between UAP types.
